From: "SiPix Technical Support" Subject: RE: StyleCam Blink II Support Request [ES46997.0.17543] Date: Fri, 9 May 2003 09:31:18 -0700 Thank you for contacting SiPix Technical Support. The StyleCam "RAM" memory cameras were designed for Alkaline Batteries. The specifications for "Alkaline" batteries are to be 1.5v. The standard "rechargeable" Battery is only 1.2V. The cameras are designed to run normally from 1.5v down to 1.3v. Once the camera has reached 1.2v the camera gives a low battery warning and starts shutting down to warn you to change the battery, after a time it will refuse to take images until the battery is changed. Once the camera reaches 1.1v the RAM memory discharges and the camera shuts off completely, losing any information in the RAM memory. There are other differences beyond what is stated above between "Alkaline" batteries and "Rechargeable" batteries that we will not get into. Bottom line, the camera was not designed to use rechargeable batteries and their use can cause a degradation of image quality in saved images, as well as damage the delicate circuitry in your digital camera.
